Sales of pre-owned Jaguars through authorized dealers achieved record high levels in 1997, thanks to growing enthusiasm for the Jaguar Select Edition program of pre-owned cars. For 1999, the XK8 coupe and convertible will be available in the Select Edition program for the first time. The high demand for pre-owned Jaguars is proof of the product's enduring high quality and value.
"The Select Edition program has become almost a second franchise for our dealers," says
Michael H. Dale, president of Jaguar North America. "Pre-owned Jaguars are an excellent value for the quality-conscious buyer and offer great opportunities for dealers." Currently, about 65 percent of Jaguars are retained for resale by dealers at the end of lease terms rather than being turned over for auction C an indication of the demand for the Select Edition program.
Explains Dale: "The availability of prime-condition, pre-owned Jaguars C each one rigorously inspected and backed by a factory warranty C for about the same price as many entry-level luxury models is making Jaguar ownership an affordable reality for thousands of drivers. With the appeal further sweetened by Jaguar's competitive financing and lease packages, we're turning admirers into owners."
The Select Edition program is an important part of Jaguar's customer care commitment, reinforcing the brand's quality image and demonstrating the growing confidence that has come with the marque's improved reputation for reliability.
"The assurance that Jaguar will stand behind the integrity of Select Edition cars adds fiscal soundness to the emotional appeal of investing in a Jaguar," says Dale. "But that's just the beginning. Buyers take part in the full Jaguar ownership experience, which includes first-class customer care at authorized Jaguar dealerships."
